BLOG: Blog v Wiki

The main difference between blogs vs wiki are that blogs are personal writings of a person while a wiki is the collaboration of many people. A blog is more suited for putting out personal opinions or writing that would then be peer reviewed by the readers of the blog in the comments section. This allows the blogger to learn what their readers think of the blog post. In a wiki many people are allowed to edit and add on to wiki which means it is a mass of information that is constantly being updated. Blogs are personal writings, but they can be used for collaboration in that the blogger can build a connection with their readers through the comments section that will lead to growth of the bloggers writings by taking other's criticisms and opinions and incorporating them into future blog posts. In Depth of DeepFake Technology: Distorting reality in the online world.

The topic I chose for my project is the effects of deepfake technology in the online world. This technology makes navigating the world wide web even more difficult as it becomes harder and harder to tell the real from the false illusions created by deepfakes. In the world we live in many of us take real life footage as factual or at least more likely to be real, but this technology allows for the alteration of video and audio that would be indistinguishable from the real thing to the majority of the populous. I want to explore the ramifications of deepfake videos of political figures saying things that would scare off supporters or the fearful thought that the person on the other end of the phone call might be AI imitating the exact voice and speech pattern of that person.
